We are just a thin hair away from a national disaster
We maybe catching a big big break momentarily, it hasn't rained since early this morning, but, there is a lot of water coming down from the north. It's not as bad as 1993, though it could be much worse, we, like all the neighboring states have been deprived of the manpower and equipment that is our national guard to get us through this.
They're in Iraq, being blown to bits, being whittled down to skeletons, the trucks, tents, field hospitals, well they're gone, just when we need them most.

This could be a terrible year, floods, tornado's, fires, hurricanes, and any other natural disaster that one cares to add, potentially could break the camels back. just so the chimp* could play out his little Oedipal game.

Okay georgie* you win yours is bigger than poppies, now bring our people home and let them do what they signed up for, before it's too late for us.

1. Native people
have been predicting a lot of "earth changes" including strange weather. I fear that these changes are coming and will be made worse by the lack of Guardsmen and equipment here.

15. There's a reason it's called the NATIONAL Guard...
It's not the international guard. It's not supposed to be used the way it's being used. It CAN be, but it's not really supposed to be. IF we have a disaster, we're fucked. But Bush will be OK. He's got a bunker and a plane. All the rest of us can go fuck ourselves. :grr:

3. This is George Bush's dream......you see disasters keep
the little people busy and scrambling and their inquisitive minds off the topics the admistration doesn't want us to dwell upon.

7. Prepare. That's the biggest advice I could give you.
Don't count on the government. Don't count on the National Guard. Only count on yourself. That's the best advice I can give at this time.

12. I'm just a few thinning hairs away from personal disaster...
But that's between me and my local Hair Club franchise.

Don't mean to seem uncaring, btw. Just couldn't resist the set up line.

I've been through enough local disasters -- mudslides, floods and earthquakes -- to appreciate and sympathize with what you're going through.

After the '89 Bay Area quake, FEMA did a great job as the interface between the locals and the feds. Now, it's a part of the Department of Vaterland Security and is probably supposed to handle the roundups of dissidents in times of "national crisis," which would be defined as the successful impeachment of Defibrillator Dick or his marionette in the white house.

Amazing how the GOP can take almost anything -- animal, vegetable or mineral -- and turn it into utter shit. They're the reverse alchemists of our day, turning gold to merde, then convincing half the people and all mass media that what they think is shit is actually gold. Takes real talent to pull that kind of trick off.

Anyway, best of luck to you and yours the rest of the week. Rely on friends and family, not on governmental institutions. Their only function these days is riot control. Helping actual people is pretty far down the list.

13. Double edge sword - destruction from within and out.
Edited on Mon May-07-07 07:02 PM by Rex
The national infrastructure is about dead on it's back. Legs up in the air. It wasn't easy - the BFEE had to work hard to destroy so many government institutions in a just a few decades.

Boy howdy have they annihilated the country, giving lip service to laws and protection. Can't pay to upkeep military bases, FEMA and DHS making sure corruption runs wholesale throughout the nation.

No protection on food or water, bad idea unless you can produce it and sell it to The People.

They sell it to The People.

And Mother Nature?

Like flicking a flea of your shoulder.
