I just got off the phone with Al Sharpton

After almost 45 minutes I finally got to talk to him! I was thrilled! Anyway,I asked him if he had heard that parody on Rush Limbaugh's website about "Obama the magic Negro" and he said yes....and he thought it was sick. He said Rush was baiting him,and stupid he was not. He said the song didn't have the N word in it or any other racial slur,so there is nothing he can do about it and Rush knew that. I told him there ought to be a boycott on his advertisers (I was so wanting to get everything out I wanted to say so I forgot to say sponsors,but it's the same thing anyway). He said that was a great idea,but before I could ask him to help with it he went to another caller. :(

I am still thankful I got to talk to him. I just love Al,I always have. I did get to tell him I watch him every time he is on TV. It was well worth the wait to get to talk to him. :bounce:

The first amendment gives the PigMan the right to say whatever he wants. It also gives us the right to call him a Nazi, call his sponsors and boycott them. It also gives advertisers the right to drop him whenever they want.

The only guarantee of Free Speech is again st GOVERNMENT censorship. Any other entity can censor til the cows come home if they have any property or other rights with which to exercise such censorship.

CBS can censor Imus. Advertisers can censor Limbaugh by dropping sponsorship of his show. Skinner et. al. can censor you and all of us by not allowing us to say certain things. If you come to my home and you use a word (or string of words) I don't like I can kick your ass out because of it. You do NOT have an untrammeled "right" to say anytyhing anywhere. You do NOT have a "right" to be heard, or published, or broadcast.

YOUR free speech rights apply only to whether or not the government can censor you. And sometimes even the government can, and does! They won't let you publish lies about your products in your advertising, for example. Nor can you engage in conspiracy to commit crimes. Not only that, but they'll punish you if you engage in libel or slander against others -- and even while that's hard to prove, the laws against libel and slander still act as disincentives for that kind of speech, so it's definitely a form of censorship.
