Puke Alert: Freepers Getting Smooshy On Fred Thompson
"like jesus in the garden of gethsemane, thompson is taking the time now to savor the last moments of a private quiet life of comfort - sacrifice awaits

a towering man (6’6”) that only seems amplified by soaring ideals

remember this moment - world history in the making"

I just think I'm gonna BARF! Why do they always have to be so corny, watch them saddle us with yet another B actor playing matinee idol for them. BLECH!

I don't know a damn thing about Thompson, but I suspect the best thing he's got going for him (besides bein' right there on the teevee) is that he is NOT one of those clowns who debated last week. Even the freepers can't work up much enthusiasm for any of them!

More Thompson LUV here:

:puke:

Plus I would like to second Bill Maher's opinion that for such a homophobic group, they sure do get gay about the likes of Reagan and Bush (remember the famous 'flight outfit' comments, DOUBLE BLECH!)

25. That's what confuses me, too.
A Bnet poster mentioned that conservatives have basically said those from Hollywood weren't allowed to have political opinions. (Yes, I know it's redundant to point out the hypocrisy, but it's fun).

4. Since Thompson is an actor, he could probably play the role of
President with as much conviction as Reagan would. That's all they are looking for right now, someone who looks and acts the part.

22. Yes, like their hero Chuck Heston, another genius!
He of the cold dead hands...jeez, what a bunch of cornballs, their idea of voting is like an odd version of the Village People with the macho stereotypes -- A cowboy! A police man! MOSES!

7. here is my question: how can any conservative position be called an "ideal"?
after all, isn't conservatism, by defination, simply refusing to do anything? Don't they want to dismantle the federal government and roll back social progress?

I mean, yes, you could describe them somewhat as "ideals", but it is laughable.

Imgagine:

"I envision a world where nothing will have changed since 1900"

"When I picture tomorrow, I try to imagine it like it was fifty years ago!"

"I will work for a government that doesn't do anything for anyone anywhere!"

Yeah, those are idealistic principles right there....

8. One of them is so bad I almost think it's a joke. LOL Look at this:
Edited on Mon May-07-07 03:35 PM by Beelzebud
i’ve studied on the subject, and my conclusion is now clear

fred is formidable

he is a man of strength, character, consistency, and with his own internal locus of control

this is no northeastern republican in name only

unlike president bush unfortunately, who is also good person, thompson has a thoroughly-integrated theme and vision of america that deeply reinforces our identity as a nation

the only bi-partisanship fred will care to achieve is through his very nature - he is hard not to like as a person despite differing views

fred is articulate, confident but not cocky, intelligent but guided by experienced common sense

no other candidate on either side has such an appreciation of the fundamental issues that will affect america in the years to come

like jesus in the garden of gethsemane, thompson is taking the time now to savor the last moments of a private quiet life of comfort - sacrifice awaits

a towering man (6’6”) that only seems amplified by soaring ideals

remember this moment - world history in the making

I bolded the more head-exploding comments. Is this nutball for real, or what? He just compared character actor, Fred Thompson, to Jesus Christ... LOL

These people are great. This gave me the biggest laugh of the day. World history is in the making folks! A character actor from Law and Order is going to take over Ronny's reins.

And as for a bonus look for the Able Danger reference in the thread. :D LOL

Seriously though, they look forward to the days of slavery and women who knew their place and before FDR "ruined America."

:puke:

ok, more seriously, they are all for State's Rights, as long as it's the ones they agree with.

Yeah, It's comforting to think of old Mitt breaking out the Book of Mormon and convening with the temple elders in a crisis....

Besides GWB has an actual HOTLINE to....GAWD!! And ya know....THAT'S worked out....NOT!!

19. Can we start calling them "Limousine conservatives" from Lala land now?
They love to attack Hollywood supporters of the Democratic Party, but look who they elect every time they get a chance. Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzeneger, etc. They're star struck.
