Is it fair to say that right wing is about "me...now". Left wing is about "us...forever"?

In looking at the reaction to the growing catastrophe in the Gulf (in any issue, really), it always strikes me that conservatives have no regard at all for what we are leaving for those to come....because it gets in the way of their immediate and self-absorbed way of living. They just use, ruin and leave a path of destruction in their wake.

4. GOP are the kings of short term thinking. They don't care about the future.

They only care about power so they can get into government and not solve any problems...but increase problems by deregulating...all so that rich people make more money and don't have to pay taxes.

6. Dunno. I can't ever figure out what the right wing actually cares about.

I notice they like being loud, angry, and judgmental. They like dropping bombs in foreign countries, they like the death penalty, and they hate protecting the environment; they don't seem to like education much. I don't really know what they're for

The rest of it is telling everyone else what they should and shouldn't be allowed to do, even with their own bodies, and to what they must pray to.
