In the year 2010, an oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico destroyed the Earth's oceans.
More than twenty years later, after riots, wars and the greatest loss of life since a planet killing asteroid struck the Yucatan Peninsula, survival became a rare commodity.

In 2022, deep within a mountain in Colorado, a group of scientists put the finishing touches on their incredible project to save mankind...

A time machine.

Their mission: To send a man named John Miller back to the year 2000 to save the one person who could have averted the greatest disaster ever to befall mankind.

That one man... His name was Al Gore.

2. Could you add some to that story?

I don't believe in temporal lore.

Are you saying that 30 years ago he was talking about the environment? As was President Carter?

Or are you talking about his initiatives?

What is the Al Gore reference you are talking about? Is it about the bull fight picture?

22. Ixtoc I spilled for nine months before being capped.
Many marine biologists through Gulf would be dead for a decade.

Turns out there are lot of oil eating microbes in the Gulf (evolved from centuries of natural oil leaks). Gulf biosphere recovered in less than 3 years.

The idea that this Gulf is going to wipe out all life in the oceans is silly.

Had the plan been successful none of us this would have happened. There would have been nothing to change.

I heard that fucking crap every single day back in 2000!

Where are all those Naderites now???

Somehow I just don't think President Al Gore would have allowed something like this to happen.

16. Al Gore certainly wouldn't be announcing new offshore drilling
in the wake of such a disaster. He certainly would have cleaned house rather than keep bu$h retreads and sympathizers in important positions. And I am pretty certain that he would be recruiting the best and the brightest from around the world to deal with this mess, rather than letting one oil company handle it because "it's their mess".

14. What a coincidence. Just last night I was listening to a radio
show in which a man claims to have been involved in "Project Pegasus" and other intelligence projects since he was a kid and the big thing they do that nobody knows about is time travel and teleportation. The guy was as serious as a heart attack. He said he's been to the past and the future. He was talking about quantum physics and multiverses and chronospheres, holograms, and whatnots. Said that the government identifies Presidents in advance and starts prepping them years ahead of time, starting with Jimmy Carter on to Barrack Obama, who was told after his first year at Columbia. It was fascinating stuff and he sounded perfectly credible, except what totally destroyed it for me was he claimed to have witnessed a holographic video of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. (He said that he also saw the signing of the constitution and other events from the past through this holographic chronosphere device). When the first caller asked what Jesus looked like, it was the classic, "European" aqualine features, etc. with droopy eyes like Sylvester Stallone. Later into the show he started saying the guy had some "mediteranean" features. Still, it was fascinating to listen to. I just had to ignore my daughter laughing at his claims. (He said he's been sent back to witness Lincoln's assasination) He claims that ethics prevents them from changing the future, but he didn't say anything about changing the past, which must be off grounds too because changing the past obviously changes the future. He said the two Bushes were notifed together that they would be presidents and that Junior, who was in his twenties at the time, kept running around bragging that he and his daddy were gonna be president.
