Alligators in your ponds? (Florida) -- Don't live there!
Hurricane season? (the Gulf Coast) -- Don't live there!
Tornados force you into the basement every now and then where you pray your house doesn't get blown to smithereens around you? (the Midwest) -- Don't live there!
There's something where you live called a "fire season"? (Southern California) -- Don't live there!
Maybe God didn't intend human beings to live on every square inch of the globe. Alligators, hurricanes, tornados and "fire seasons" seem to be pretty powerful signs of that!

Nor'easters, ice storms, lightning, hurricanes and yes even earthquakes affect the northeastern part of the US. And tornadoes can and do occur in every state.
