After pressure from Congressman Ed Markey, BP has made their live video feed from the ocean floor available to the public. The Select Committee website has posted this live feed on our website at http://globalwarming.house.gov/spillcam/


As expected, public demand for this video has been overwhelming. If you are having trouble viewing it, please refresh or check back. BP has informed the Select Committee that they are boosting their bandwidth tonight.

9. NUMBER ONE ISSUE: the top kill will probably not work

We are essentially screwed. The more I research this the more I realize what an utter disaster this is..

The top kill could blow out the well. The BOP is weak.

These are the possibilities:

1. The Top Kill works

2. The Top Kill goes wrong and further damages the BOP or worse blows out the well

3. We wait for the relief well and that has a 50% chance of working

In the meantime the air quality could be hazardous, the job losses enormous.

18. It happened, like, two hours ago. I had it up on the screen, then it was all brown particles.

Then the camera moved, as if it were being operated remotely. Some lights were evident, and a long cord. But the pipe hasn't been on screen in a while now.
