Mark Twain autobiography to be printed after 100 years
He left written instructions that his auto biography which he spent the last years of his life writing would not be published for 100 years. Well it's 100 years latter. This doesn't mean no one has read it as the whole thing has been available to scholars for a long time but it's never actually been printed for the public at large to read:

I'm sure Twain didn't want his autobiography read for a 100 years because

it says he's an atheist. He wrote in other letters to friends that if anyone admitted to being an atheist at the time, it would guarantee his ruin and his family's disgrace. People didn't tolerate atheists in his day. Like a lot has changed.

2. Interesting!
Didn't he also write dirty stories?

4. If he wrote dirty stories, I'm not aware of it.
I'm sure he enjoyed telling dirty jokes.

5. Can't wait to read the trilogy!
FTA:

"He had doubts about God, and in the autobiography, he questions the imperial mission of the US in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. He's also critical of Roosevelt, and takes the view that patriotism was the last refuge of the scoundrel. Twain also disliked sending Christian missionaries to Africa. He said they had enough business to be getting on with at home: with lynching going on in the South, he thought they should try to convert the heathens down there."

***************************

Sam, there's still plenty of bigoted 'heathens' which need converting down here and out in AZ as well! He'd probably be sorely disappointed.
I suspect that Twain was the George Carlin of his time.

6. A little known fact, Clements was the first stand up comedian.
Not counting court jesters. Later in life he toured colleges and read excerpts from his stories. He stood in front of an audience and told jokes.
