Why does Dick Blumenthal drive Joe Scab crazy?
Joe was rabid this morning. Even Mika couldn't calm him down. I thought he was going to hurl something at John Harwood and Mark Halperin who didn't think that Dick had done anything NEAR to what Joe was throwing around. And they topped it off by saying to Joe that it wasn't going to matter, that the people of CT like Dick and are going to vote for him for Senator. Joe was LIVID.

I loved it. Here I am, a CT voter who gets to make the decision, and NOT YOU Joe, you don't have a say! Too bad, so sad...and you are still an asshole.

2. I caught some of the exchange about Paul
and I THOUGHT it seemed as if he and Mika agreed with Paul. And said something like that wouldn't matter because unlike Blumenthal HE clarified that he supported the Civil Rights Bill. If the SOB supported the bill why did he say business had the right to discriminate if they wanted.

And Blumenthal clarified that he mis-spoke in that speech. That every other time he said Viet Nam area and that one time he left out area. That could happen to anyone. McMahon is going to get more flack in the long run for starting something that wasn't then what she did with bringing a non-issue to the news paper.

I think we should all write to the New York Times and ask them how much she paid them to run a lie. Because if they had checked it first, like they are supposed to do, they would have found it out.

4. to clarify - Blumenthal admitted to misspeaking several times

He clearly stated that during his initial press conference on the matter.

3. I have been wondering about the poutrage. I heard that Cookie Roberts
wanted Blumenthal's head on a platter over the weekend.

The only thing I can come up with is that Blumenthal did file suit against Moody's and other financial ratings agencies last month. Also, he said on Ratigan's show something about criminal charges may come from various financial probes. He is Spitzer-like, and the bizniz goons do not like him.

I would tend to think that Morning Jerk has more fake outrage for Blumenthal's threat to big bizniz than anything else. And that is 'cause someone told him to be outraged.

Meanwhile, the NYT scates with no further scrutiny. I refuse to link to them anymore, as I no longer find them credible.

7. I've had more than enough of that from Cookie Cokey!
I nearly fell off my chair watching her say that the American people were going to view Obama taking a vacation in Hawaii as being too "exotic." You'd think she'd learn from that, she got mocked so mercilessly for it. But she really put me over the edge when she sniffed that Clinton had sullied Washington DC with his trifling with Monica! Oh, right, Cokie, nobody in Washington has affairs...

8. It appears so. Not only do they not have any ideas that the American public will accept,
they have only one line of attack. Well, Blumenthal is pushing back hard and when his campaign starts in on McMahon and HER dirty dealings, it won't be pretty!

Swiftboating only works when you can A. sufficiently hid your ulterior motives and background instigator and B. when the person you are swiftboating doesn't fight back HARD. I think Dick B. is smart enough to have learned that since the days of the swiftboating of John Kerry...

asshole Joe was so angry he started twisting in his chair and started sipping his starbucks because he seemed to wanted to jump across the table at Harwood. Everytime there is a meltdown with scar that tape never shows up on the site.

GOP than to WIN a NORTHEASTERN Seat. Before all this bruhaha
Blumenthal had a 60% APPROVAL in the ratings in CT.

If the GOP hopes to make a showing, they have to destroy
that approval rating. An approval rating like that almost
means a sure win. First move must be bring that rating
down so he is on a more even playing field with McMahon.
Furthermore, the GOP are viewed as being stronger in Foreign
Affairs and Defense. Blumenthal has a long history of
standing with the Veterans and fighting for them. The
GOP know they must never let Democrats have one success
in this area. Destroy him in the eyes of the veterans.
and they keep their hold on Foreign Affairs and defense.

Until our party recognizes the GOP have an overarching philosphy
and goals and this drives the every move, we will end up
fighting over some little legalistic use of words while
they win the war.

added: GOP Senator from Ct, will be will their wildest dream
come true.

13. Joe doesn't get it. His wet dream of another GOP senator from NE
is not going to come true. So he essentially was trying to "kill the messenger" with his tantrum against Harwood and Halperin. You'd think that Mika had filled him in on Dick's popularity in CT!! If she tried, it's not getting through his thick skull. I think he'll keep trying but it won't work. His perch at MSNBC isn't enough to overcome Dick's popularity and McMahon's inherent weakness. She comes across as a real opportunist...ain't gonna happen...

15. I think she tries to tell him based on her years reporting in CT that Dick is
VERY popular in the state. He's done a lot for a lot of people. Hell, even my conservative, Libertarian neighbor likes him for the stand he made against increases by our utility company. On every front he's been great.

There was a LTTE yesterday in our local New haven Register signed by Dick's commanding officer in the Marine Reserve. He praised Blumenthal to the skies and said the attacks on him were unfair and wrong. He said Blumenthal was one of the best Marines he ever knew!

16. They play 'good cop', 'bad cop' with a meaningless story to keep it going
Edited on Mon May-24-10 12:58 PM by NNN0LHI
There are more important stories than this.

This isn't even in the top ten and yet they dwell on it. Why doesn't Mika just tell a-hole Joe that and shut him down just once? She plays right along in her part. Its sickening.

At least she doesn't cling to Joe as much as she used to. Thats a plus.
