BREAKING: DADT Deal with GAYS, Pentagon, And Congress being Worked ON!
The Whiteboard:

TALK UNDER WAY: Congressional leaders, gay rights advocates and Pentagon officials are meeting at the White House Monday morning to discuss an emerging deal on repealing the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" ban on gays in the military, sources say.

2. Deal?
What "deal"? I mean, how does that work? "Okay, we'll only throw them out for 9 more months, then we'll stop".

Are they discussing new ways to harass them or something?

How long does it take to negotiate the concept of "It's over"?

3. It will probably be, "Just don't tell anyone that you're gay, and we'll make it a policy
that no one is to ask you if you're gay...then...oh wait..."

:(

5. There are real concerns
There needs to be alot of "negotiating" but not with the military. A good lawyer needs to write this repeal law to protect all the current members who are serving. Many people, in out of uniform, have been less than truthful over the years, some of it in writing. They need to be protected from legal or professional retaliation after the law is repealed. They also need to be protected from "forced outings". And none of this "segregated barracks" crap either.

4. Please tell me "gay rights advocates" doesn't mean Joe Solmonese.
I don't like the sound of this.
