It’s Tuesday, Truthseekers, and the oil volcano continues to spew millions of gallons of black death under the Gulf. Today BP plans a “top kill” procedure to attempt to plug the geyser with cement and gas, but officials aren’t exactly promising any results. Meanwhile the Obama administration is allowing BP to call on the shots on this growing disaster, adopting the attitude that if BP can’t fix it, they probably can’t, either.

Meanwhile, coastal residents are despondent and cannot understand why they have seemingly been abandoned. In Louisana, St. Bernard Parish President Craig Taffaro said: ” . . . the plan is to let us die,” after a visit yesterday from Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.

Other coastal parish presidents are fed up with BP and the federal government. According to Courthouse News Service, “Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser said BP’s violation of the Sunday night deadline to stop using the toxic dispersant felt like a slap in the face “Are they just going to continue spraying this stuff until someone sends them to jail?” Nungesser said he intends to take matters into his own hands, whether the Corps of Engineers issues his parish the emergency permit he applied for on May 13 or not, and whether BP decides help keep oil out of the wetlands or not.

After 24 hours, permit or not, Nungesser said Plaquemines Parish will begin dredging and building emergency berms, as a last line of defense against oil intrusion into Plaquemines Parish marshes. ”If we don’t do it, our marsh will be destroyed,” Nungesser said. The wetlands are prime breeding habitat for dozens or hundreds of species of wildlife, including fish, crustaceans and birds.”

But . . . but . . . Rush said the oil is a GOOD thing for the beaches and marshes! Can’t wait till it reaches his mansion.

Extra hugs for you! I saw Sen. Landrieu on Tweety's show while I was folding some t-shirts and I found myself yelling at the teevee and threw a shirt at the screen.

Strangely enough, the mr. asked over dinner, "Who will be the first asshole to mention that because there are car crashes..."

I laughed and mentioned, "Strangely enough, it was the supposed Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu on Hardball." Tweety was asking her why more assets to capture the oil weren't in the Gulf, why the oil companies didn't seem to be working together to share tankers, etc., to stop the destruction in the Gulf. She responded with something like, when there are airplane crashes, we don't expect other airlines to get involved...

I lost it. When there is a tragic plane crash, it is finished and the NTSB goes in to investigate. This is an ongoing catastrophe and I agree that every asset, every smart brain should be engaged to deal with this.

I started a thread pondering what the hell was happening with the oil cam, so I may be back and forth checking that out. Bad form to begin a thread and leave it, but we've had dinner and cleaned up the kitchen in between. This geyser in the Gulf Of British Petroleum has had my stomach in knots for days and days.

Oh yeah, I'd like to take the CEO, COO and the most irritating PR, er BS director, Bob Dudley, upper management, the MMS dolts who gave the waiver, the drill baby drill crowd, and some politicians and throw them over the gusher zone with their mouths wide open.

I'll try to behave now.
