First Republicans, And Now BP Starts To Get A Free Pass By The Media
Edited on Tue May-25-10 11:36 PM by TomCADem
The media is giving Republicans a complete free pass as they continue to block efforts to raise the liability cap. Now, the media is one the blame the federal government for the oil spill, which gives BP a free pass AND undermines any effort to regulate or restrict offshore oil drilling. Afterall, if government is to blame, then the answer is less government.

Also, look at all those puff pieces about Bobby Jindal's efforts to fight the oil spill. Everyone conveniently ignores that Bobby Jindal had been one of the biggest proponents of offshore oil drilling for the past few years dating back to his days as a Congressman. As a Congressman, he sponsored the bill lifting the morotorium on offshore oil drilling back in 2006, and applauded once again as a Governor, George Bush's efforts to expand offshore oil drilling. Now he's being portrayed as a hero? Amazing.

Libertarianism masquerading as liberalism once again. We are Ronald Reagan Democrats now it appears feeding at the trough of the corporate media narrative.
