This entire job offer thing with Sestak |
|
Is one of the big reasons I voted for Arlen. I remember first hearing about it in February. Sestak made some chest beating comments around that time. It was part of his why Obama are you supporting this guy period. Actually had a pretty good viral web ad.
I'm not going to bash the democratic nominee in my state, however I knew Joe would be trouble than and not trouble in the good way. Trouble in the throw other people under the bus and say stupid shit for my political ambitions way.
I'm happier with my vote last week today than I was the day afterward.

1. I'm with Chuck Todd who suggested that Sestak might have been "hearing only what he wanted to hear" |

but I saw this coming with Joe a long time ago...back in August when he had beers with Toomey at the democratic party bar in my town despite everyone begging him not to.

Hopefully, Sestak won't be so clueless and will figure out that asking him if he might be interested in being Secy of the Navy is not asking him to agree not to run against Specter. He's been a major dumb ass on that point. What the president is alleged to have done is common. A politician is offered a plum so he won't run for an office or so he will vacate an office. It's not illegal as long as there is not a specific quid pro quo.
Why Sestak is still talking about it is a mystery. He ranks up there with Rand Paul in stupid human tricks when it comes to the post primary category. Sestak may have done the only thing that can prevent him from winning. Specter is a slime ball, but I'm beginning to wonder if Sestak isn't stupid, or at a minimum, politically ignorant to the point of incompetence.

4. Most times we vote for the lesser of two evils |

I'm not going to bash the democratic nominee for Senate.
All I will say, is that I knew from people I know, and my own personal experiences that the devil you knew was probably more reliable than the devil waiting in the wings.
I wanted someone else who got chased out after the party switch. Probably for the better, next year is a tough year and it gives him a chance later down the road.

Stop talking about it. It's a nonstory. It has no traction and it's very "Inside Beltway." I rate Sestak at about a 2-1 favorite over Looney Toomes.

6. I only posted one thing |
|
I'm holding my nose on this race because it is Pat Toomey. If it wasn't Pat Toomey I'd consider a write-in.
That being said, thank God there is a Governor's race that I can do good in when I have time with a candidate I personally like.

7. Gobsmacked again! This guy rose to Vice Admiral and... |
|
doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut?
Maybe he is better on some of the issues than Specter, but how good a Senator is he going to be if he keeps getting in trouble like this.
(He just shoulda known better.)

He was my U.S. Rep. and I voted for him twice. I've met the man, also twice, and not at brush-bys. I'm guessing you have some "inside knowledge" that leads you to these unspecified, murky conclusions you've drawn (but won't reveal), but he didn't get to be one of the most effective U.S. Representatives and a three-star admiral by being a jerk, or a loose cannon, or whatever it is you're implying. As I suggested, probably time to stop weighing in on this total nonstory.
