Let's call it like it is: Murder
Edited on Wed May-26-10 08:02 AM by CanonRay
Yes, the BP "spill" as the media is so fond of calling it, is in reality murder. With an ecological disaster piled on top.

There were 11 men on that rig who are dead, not because of an accident but because of a pattern of conduct, including bribed and malfeasant inspectors, the people who bribed them, deliberately shoddy work on the drill site, those in power at BP who chose cost savings over saftey, choosing the sloppy safety, and everyone who helped to cover up the bribes and lousy work. Those are the co-conspirators. Right now, there should be 500 FBI and EPA agents interviewing everyone who ever came near that rig: Planners, designers, drill workers, inspectors and their supervisors, and yes, BP management. Every document that exists concerning that rig should be seized. This should have begun on April 21st, but there is absolutely no excuse now. We KNOW inspectors were crooked, and we know who made them that way. We know BP has a long history of choosing to save a buck over safety. We know the former U.S. Attorney (and ex-big oil general counsel) "declined to prosecute" when presented with a report of bribed inspections. How far up does this go? How far into our government? If and when the authorities finally decide to start looking, they're going to find the BP records "missing", and the employees out of reach in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Tracks are being covered and strategies conceived as we sit here.

So why hasn't President Obama ordered a full speed ahead investigation?

Where are the FBI agents?

Where are the subpoenas?

Where's the special Grand Jury?

Why isn't Eric Holder on the TeeVee every night telling us soneone's going to hang?

It's time to call it Murder.

5. "Guilty until proven innocent" - That's bigotry and it is destructive under these circumstances, but
then, perhaps, that is your highest priority, to Destroy, rather than to come to somekind of solution despite the errors of ALL OF US. Though your culpability IS less than that of BP, it is proportionally just as much y/our fault and THAT is what President Obama has to deal with.

Really, you discredit your position by revealing your prejudice against the President.

6. I think I'll apply that principle to you: Guilty until proven innocent: You are a bigot.
Since, apparently, you approve of this principle, you have NO grounds to tell me why you are not a bigot, because anything you say here is not proof.

7. Good Grief, the point is 11 guys are DEAD!
and nobody seems to notice that. I don't think Obama is involved, but I certainly think people in government at some level are complicit, and it should be investigated immediately and thoroughly. This post has nothing to do with bigotry.

9. Your point was about Obama, not those 11 dead. Yes, government is complicit, but you felt it
necessary to obfuscate that by turning the whole regulatory piece into President Obama.

What purpose does your generalization serve? What real world solution does it move us toward? None. Ergo, you quite possibly have some other purpose, hmmmm . . . now I wonder what that could be?

Even if my estimation of the possibilities is incorrect, the point remains that your rhetoric does not serve your implied purpose.

10. Total Bullshit
My point was about the dead oil rig workers. Fact is, the Justice Department, who should be leading the investigation, is under President Obama, last time I looked. Ergo, a push from him to Mr. Holder would do wonders to start the ball rolling. To say that I'm somehow aiming at Obama is more than a stretch. But you've made up your mind, so fine.

12. Precision is a useful trait. Try "Mr. Holder is complicit" next time - *IF* that's what you mean.

13. Just like in the case of the 29 dead miners that Massey blew up.
Cutting corners to save money and people die in the process. The Motive...GREED!
