American Citizen detained and threatened with deportation for being brown
Edited on Wed May-26-10 08:31 AM by kpete
American Citizen detained and threatened with deportation for being brown:

Eduardo Caraballo, a U.S. citizen born in the United States, was detained for over three days on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant.

Despite presenting identifying documents and even his birth certificate, Caraballo was held by federal immigration authorities over the weekend and threatened with deportation, according to an NBC Chicago report. He was only released when his congressman, Luis Gutierrez -- a vocal supporter of immigration reform -- intervened on his behalf.

1. Immigration reform should start at the top
With the agency in charge of immigration.

2. Enough to make one wonder just how much of the Federal establishment, corrupted to the core during
the former administration, is still corrupt to the core?

3. VERY corrupt - you can be certain of that
And Obama is not DeBushifying fast enough, not to mention he is allowing every single of the many Bushie Felons to walk free because busting criminals for crimes is so "looking backwards" and we don't do that.

4. BHO is going to get metaphorically bitten in the ass so many times by ratifying junior's corrupted
policies and actions (wars), not weeding out Bush ideologues/moles obstructing true agency missions, and by signing Republican-like legislation (HCR and the coming watered-down financial reform) that he's likely going to be handed a drubbing (his metaphorical political ass) in 2012, paving the way for some anointed Bush-heavy to go gangbusters in the further destruction of the Republic. Rarely in the course of human events could one man have so dramatically reversed the vast misfortunes of his crumbling republic just by implementing sound and sane progressive foreign, domestic, and fiscal and tax policies, but instead proceed to ratify most of the horribly flawed and corrupt policies of his predecessor, holding none of the major culprits accountable, and signing into law a highly flawed HCR bill that continues to provide a gravy-train to the insurance companies and a financial reform bill waiting in the wings that will not prevent another financial crisis/meltdown. The common tread has been to bow to the wishes/demands of the lobbyists rather than serving the interests of the people and society as a whole, a sure recipe for continuing down the destructive path just traveled.
