Can anyone effing believe this? The world's economy is in a dive, Canada has a record deficit and a 48 HOUR meeting is going to cost almost ONE BILLION dollars.

Initially Canadian PM Stephen Harper said cost was going to be $170 million which would have been astronomical for a 48 HOUR meeting. However within months the cost has now spiraled to $830 million but the minister responsible for it says they now estimate the cost closer to $930 million.

Teleconferencing would save the tax payers.

3. Come to think of it, here's a chance for Cisco to create a compelling ad:
Cost to teleconference versus a one billion dollar two day event.

4. For that money, we could blast them into space on the shuttle - and give them
a list of problems to fix before they were allowed to come back. Better hurry up and work out some agreements, there's only so much oxygen on board (and you probably shouldn't waste it bloviating)

7. Stupid Harper put the G20 in downtown Toronto. That just upped the cost
by billions.
