Rand Paul Plans Staff Shake Up after Gaffes
Kentucky senatorial candidate Rand Paul said Tuesday he's planning a campaign staff shake-up a week after a round of interviews in which he dismayed fellow Republicans by discussing his views on racial segregation.

Campaign manager David Adams, who had been a Republican blogger in Nicholasville before joining up, will remain, but perhaps in a different role, Paul said.

Paul, who declined to give more details, won the GOP nomination last week with a campaign staff made up largely of political novices and volunteers.

Adams would only say, "I don't have any comment about that yet."

A former aide to Paul's father, Texas congressman and former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, has become increasingly visible in the Senate campaign. Jesse Benton, who was communications director for Ron Paul's last presidential bid, has been by the younger Paul's side at most of his recent campaign events.

1. LOL! So much for libertarian individual responsibility. Does it take a village ...
to make a good GOP candidate?

2. Your comment is exactly right. When any candidae sticks BOTH
FEET in his own mouth, their first reaction is always blame the staff! That's just foolish. I'm not saying his staff was the greatest on earth, but it was RAND who gave the interviw to his local newspaaper and his opinions stated there were was created the entry door to all the other questions asked by the other journalists, no matter what network they were with. I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't killed his political career already, before it eve got started. I agree with Howard Finemann who was on Hardball the other day and said "Kentucky doesn't like to be embarrassed, and although Ran was only stating his opinion, he can't come off sounding like at 'Nutball' in doing so!"
