How to speed up the BP cleanup |
|
Step 1. Arrest all the top officials at BP, Transocean, Halliburton and any other corporation that was involved in the Gulf disaster.
Step 2. Keep them in jail.
Step 3. Prosecute the living crap out of them.

Some sort of a Water Board, I think, to examine the environmental impact...

8. I think the OP is saying that the environment doesn't matter, it's the jailing that's important |
|
The 'clean-up' they are concerned with is the moral one inside BP etc.

10. What I was saying was... |
|
since getting this disaster fixed seems to be taking so much time, maybe putting BP bigwigs behind bars would motivate the company to speed up the process.
I want the environment cleaned up, believe it or not. I just want to force BP to hasten the process.
It is completely uncalled-for to say that I think the environment doesn't matter.

11. you can't change the physics involved. It's going to take as long as it takes. The problem |
|
will be fixed by technicians who know what they are doing.
The problem was caused not by the technicians but the corporate suits and bean-counters.

12. Surprising that you think removing the people in charge will speed things up |
|
You didn't, after all, mention the environment in your OP at all. It was all about putting people in jail. I really did think you meant that BP needs cleaning up.
Really, arresting people would be counter-productive right now. And probably against the law, too - you don't seem to have bothered specifying any charges yet. If someone can come up with the laws they've violated that demand them being kept in jail, then you can do it, but it would still screw up the current operation. If youre point was that they aren't competent enough to lead the operation, then "put someone else in charge" should have appearde somewhere in your solution.
