Someone who can't defend himself will be ultimately judged to be the "culprit" who's action (or inaction) caused the explosion.

Future hearing of BP executives before the Senate:

"Yes, Senator. If only the deceased had done his job properly, he and his 10 colleagues would be alive today and the oil gusher would've never happened. It's a real shame we can't ask him why he was so negligent."

6. dead victims is accurate, heroes is hyperbolic.
I realize propagandists create heroes wherever convenient, but what was 'heroic' about working on that oil rig? The only criteria I can imagine would end up making a decent % of the US population heroes as well. That isn't very inclusive, is it?

btw you could consider taking the next step and calling them martyrs. That also has considerable propaganda value.

this disaster in order to minimize responsibility. All one has to do is follow what happened with the Exxon Valdez and the punitive damages that they ended up paying for their spill, how many years later?

5. I really think that's why we need to attach the ceos and cheney's name to THEIR disaster
they made it:

The Hayward/Cheney Gusher

The Hayward/Cheney Oil Catastrophe

There names should always be attached to this throughout history because it is their fault, not the people who took bp's orders.
