Montgomery student in critical but stable condition after fightThe 16-year-old is considered the primary aggressor in the fight, Barnett said, and the 17-year-old tried to "deescalate everything."
After the 16-year-old laid his hands on the other student, faculty and students attempted to pull them apart, he said. As they were being pulled apart, the 16-year-old fell and hit his head on the floor, Barnett said.

Barnett said that charges have not been filed for two reasons -- the injured student was the primary aggressor and because the injuries were not directly a result of the fight.
The incident involved a Korean-American student and an African-American student.
The story says the student “had a skull fracture” but “not directly a result of the fight”.
