1. I never thought Ron Paul's vote was in play
Perhaps his wacky libertarian ideology worked to our advantage this one time.

9. I don't know
He has the Republican nomination for the Senate
Illinois is not an anti-Gay rights state

I don't know what he gets out of it -- especially since Congressman Cao (R-LA) voted for it

13. Why am I not surprised Shuler voted no?
Why he continues to call himself a Democrat is beyond me.

On the bright side, my congressman (Kissell) voted to repeal the ban.

14. Mary "Bono" Mack Voted Against This Bill for GLBT Service Men & Women.
This is the woman who has exploited her husband's name, who cheated with a married man, yet who votes against GLBT women and men.

I wish Chaz Bono would call her out on using the Bono name.

16. Thanks for the link on the House vote.
My House district split, but no surprise. I'm so glad this gets put on the legislative table, though. 'Bout time.

20. Thanks, but it was a no-brainer that there would be interest in this here.
It was disappointing to see that news sites were not making these details available.

You're right, this is long overdue. I only wish that a late friend of mine, a veteran I met some 20 years ago, could have lived to see this. Randy did three tours as a Marine in Vietnam, most of it as a combat Infantry squadleader, and coming out was absolutely out of the question for him.

When he got out the service, Randy pursued his dream of being a cop, and he fought and won a notorious battle to join the San Francisco Police Department as a gay Vietnam vet with PTSD. He joined the force, but the other cops tormented him so mercilessly that he was forced to quit.

Randy died of complications from AIDS 17 years ago, but I know he would have been overjoyed if he could have lived to see this.

21. Lipinski (D IL- 3rd) Voted No On DADT Repeal And As Always He's On The Wrong Side Of The Vote......
This guy is such a joke. He's always on the wrong side of the votes. I don't know why he calls himself a Dem. He needs to be run out of the Dem party. Even Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) voted yes for this repeal of DADT.
