Is There Any Actual Video of the Leaking Fluid Changing From Black to Brown?
We have been told since Top Kill started that it was 'working'. One point of evidence was that the leak from the BOP was not black, but a brownish-red, allegedly the mud mixture.

But, the leak from the BOP has always had the brownish coloring, while the leak from the end of the riser was the deep black. BP pulled a camera switch-a-roo that no one seemed to notice.

For days we watched the riser-end view, with the black oil and occasional white gas gushing from the end. Days before top kill began, we were shown the first public images of the leak from the BOP. Up until that point, no one in the public had seen that leak. It was brownish in that first video.

Just before Top Kill began, the riser-end video stream was no longer made public. We all started watching the BOP leak. It was the same color at the start of Top Kill, during Top Kill, and after they stopped and re-started Top Kill.

Is there any public evidence that the coloring of the leaks at the BOP or the riser-end (which we can no longer see)?

Here is the first image released of the BOP leak, long before Top Kill began. Notice it looks no different than it did yesterday or today. It is the last video in the article: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2010/05/20/94581/low-estimate-of-oil-spills-size.html#ixzz0p2K9xYzn

1. Here is BP's excuse for the camera change:
BP halts video of leaking pipe, blames dirty lens

(Reuters) - Mud on the lens of the camera providing video images of the pipe gushing oil into the Gulf of Mexico has blocked the view of the attempt to stop the spill, BP Plc (BP.L) said on Thursday.

There was no attempt to prevent the public from watching efforts to plug the leak from the damaged well, a BP spokesman said.

"It's just operational," said BP spokesman Jon Pack. "The camera that was closest to the riser got mud on its lens".

Last week BP began broadcasting video images of its leaking underwater oil well, following pressure from U.S. Congressional leaders concerned about the lack of progress in halting what is now the largest oil spill in U.S. history.

Since then the images have focused on a plume of black crude oil flowing from a pipe, called a riser, which is connected to the well head. However, on Thursday all video has been of the equipment at the top of the well.

On Wednesday BP began its latest attempt to plug the well, in an operation dubbed "top kill", involving pumping heavy drilling fluid into the blow out preventer, a heavy piece of equipment that sits on top of the well. The goal is to stall the flow of oil with the heavy fluids and then pump concrete into the well to shut if off for good.

3. We have enough information to know we are being fed bullshit.
I disagree with you on the moon landing.

6. Absolutely. And not showing the other end of the riser is strange.

I did see the lens get covered when they were doing the ROV manipulations the other day, and they were able to clean the lens with a fan. Seems like they don't want to show us the other end of the riser for some reason.

They did pump an entire ship full of mud into the bop though, so it shouldn't be surprising that it's coming out the leaks. Whether they could overcome the pressure of the oil (with all the leaks) enough to push the oil back down into the well is another question entirely, I and others have always assumed that this would not work - just hoping for the best.

given there's no natural light at that depth.

The exact point in watching the video defeats me anyway unless some assume that watching it will affect the outcome in some way.
