SACRAMENTO, CA - Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Assem. Chuck DeVore of Irvine, wants to expand oil drilling off the California coast. He said by doing so, the state would not only have fewer offshore oil accidents, but less money would end up in the hands of terrorists.

DeVore appeared on Monday's Live Online at 5 p.m. with News10's Sharon Ito.

DeVore said without the expansion of offshore oil drilling, more foreign oil tankers would be plying the waters off California. DeVore said, "Not only do we send them our money, much of which ends up in the hands of terrorists, but they have accidents at far greater rates than do offshore rigs."

DeVore also joined with Republican opponent Carly Fiorina in signing a no tax pledge and said there would be no circumstance where he would vote to raise taxes.
