They Say 6 Thousand, We Say 4.5 Billion.
After negotiating a health care bill a mile away from universal care,

and after attempting to entice a Republican congress by drill baby drilling to disaster,

one must conclude that Democrats giving ground to Republicans is a bad thing and even dangerous.

It's like arguing the approximate age of the earth with them. How far from 4.5 billion years would we have to move for them to move from 6000 years?

If we all had to come up with a number for the age of the earth, what number between 6000 and 4.5 billion would be acceptable to them?

Six thousand of course.

I enjoyed the parts about the flood. That city turning to salt was definitely up my alley. May not of happened, but I agree with the loathing sentiment regarding the incorrigible human race.

4. If the city that turned to salt, was on the banks

of a river that turned to Tequila, THEN you've got my attention !

2. Sometimes it takes a simple metaphor like (as?) this to clearly communicate to those who will
not listen.

An addition would be that the Dems abandon the 4.5 billion number from the start and start their negotiations at one hundred thousand.

Then they compromise down to 6,000.

Then declare that an historic agreement has been reached (around).

3. silly humans
So silly, those "Answers in Genesis" "scientists." Really, how can one even have a genuine conversation (or any critical thinking) with such silly people. Then again, maybe I'm just a godless un-American heathen! lol

5. silly humans would be sooner satisfied.
Status driven is what has steered us astray. It's a simple case of confusion in the 'greed is good' mantra, they lost an o along the way.

Welcome to DU.

6. Great analogy!
Gee, let's just meet in the middle and call it a day. That would be the "bi-partisan" solution that makes no sense and satisfies no one and ignores reality. And that the Reality denying Conservatives would reject anyway.

In short, exactly how we are conducting business today. Which explains why we are getting Republican favoring bills put through by Democrats in the interest of "compromise" that actually solve no problems or concerns. But it got done!
