Seriously I'm getting a bit annoyed with this Joe Sestak thing. |
|
And I'm worried we just handed that seat over to Pat Toomey, which will be a return to Santorum-land.
I realize that nothing was done wrong that hasn't been done by previous presidents but the whole thing was just stupid to begin with. Stupid ever there was ever a slight chance that Obama administration was hoping to keep Sestak out of the race and equally to blame for Sestak for even bringing all that up during the campaign.
Even when Joe & Barack clear this mess up (and it will turn out to be nothing), the republicans will be doing their damndest to smear Joe Sestak in such a way that will make him totally unelectable and give the seat back to someone who makes Rick Santorum look like a moderate. Even with this being a race that trends republican this cycle, this seat was an easy win no matter who the democratic candidate was for Pennsylvania. Now I see it as a toss-up.

1. "Joe and Barack?" Here's the thread where folks say supporting Specter was just a chess move! |

4. I always expected Obama to support Specter just like he supported every other incumbants |
|
It's very rare to see a dem president support an outsider. If the outsider loses (which is most of the time) then he's got a pissed off senator/representative in congress. If the outsider win, it's much easier to win them over by making a few campaign stops & promises for the new candidate.

2. I don't see a problem for Joe. The Pubs would have tried to smear him with |
|
something anyway, tru or made up! That's the way they operate.

3. Yes, you'd think Eisenhower had just offered Earl Warren a seat on the Supreme Court |
|
in return for throwing the California delegation to him at the nominating convention.
That actually happened, btw.
