8. Under the bus with Spitzer now!
C'mon down. Plenty of room. We just keep getting bigger and bigger busses.

Next week we'll upgrade to a high speed train since more casualties are expected.

you rearrange all the other great Democrats currently occupying space under the bus, including Noam Chomsky, I think he landed there a few weeks ago, to make room for Spitzer.

So predictable. If this is true, all it does is prove those of us who have suspected for a long time, that the DLC wing of the party, to which Clinton belongs, will do anything to hold on to the Joe Liebermans and Jane Harmans, Blanche Lincolns and the Nelsons of the party, were right.

Which only proves that there is little difference between the left and the right when it comes to support for a Corporate America. As soon as Clinton started hanging out with the Bushes, the writing was on the wall as far as where he stood.

It didn't work this time though. So that gives me hope that finally democratic voters have taken the blinders off and are now doing what they should have been doing, working hard to re-build the Democratic Party into a party that actually represents the people.

14. We may not see eye to eye on many things, but your assessment regarding taking back the party
is a reality as was shown in the primaries in Arkansas and Philadelphia

After we lost Kennedy's seat, "thank you kaine for being asleep on the job", and the recent primaries, you would hope that the current administration would recognize that catering to the people who DID NOT vote for him should get less weighting than those who DID

18. Yes, I completely agree with you on this.
The party has been divided, but I do think that most now are united in realizing that without a strong progressive Democratic congress, a president's hands are tied, even with a majority.

And even if the president is not a Democrat, like Bush eg, a strong majority of real Democrats in Congress can stop the worst policies from being pushed through, and will have the power to make the real changes that are necessary. I know it will take time, but as you pointed out, we have made a good start.

Sometimes we place too much importance on the race to the WH and ignore where the people's real power is. The beauty of our system of government is the balance of powers. As Sen. Byrd once said to Larry King when he asked him how he liked 'working under Bush' ~ 'Congress does not work under the president. We are an equal branch of government and I work as an equal partner to this president, never under him'. Larry got a lesson in civics that night .. :-)

Bubba, on behalf of the WH, offered a non paying advisory panel type job offer to Sestak. Sestak turned him down.

11. It doesn't pass the smell test.
Why won't they identify the job? If it is non-paying how is it "important and significant"? What would induce Sestak to take a non-paying job anyway, is he independently wealthy?

19. I don't have a dog either except I want a Democrat to win in PA
Until this comes out clean in the wash I think it will hang over Sestak's head until the election.

22. Dude, it's done
Clinton told Sestak that the administration would like for him to stay in the House but would appoint him to a presidential commission. By law, sitting House members cannot be paid for that, but sitting members of Congress participate in presidential commissions all the time.

There was nothing illegal or improper about it from either side and it won't hang over anybody's head.

You've revealed you agenda.

24. I guess Axelrod has the same agenda
Because on Tuesday he said it "would be a serious breach of the law" if it went down as Sestak said.
