A moment of levity - Palins' "fencetrocity" - The Mudflats

Well, here’s the new fence. It’s quite the… fencetrosity. The whole thing has the look of someone taking an already high fence, and then finding another fence like it only of a different color, and stapling that fence on to the other fence, only a couple feet higher, creating some kind of awkward layered fence hybrid that looks like it may topple over at any moment. And it’s far more horrible looking from her side, than from the neighbor’s side. That’ll show ‘em.

And of course, all you have to do is sit on the lawn where there is no fence if you wanted a look at your neighbor’s property. And if you just wanted to keep someone from looking in your window, you could … I don’t know … draw the blinds at night like regular people.

And if you have property on a lake, and you’ve made such a huge deal about nobody looking at your house by pitching the Facebook fit of the year, and freaking out that someone might see you in a halter top and shorts, you can expect for certain that this will now become the new favorite sport of tourists and residents alike who are free to pass by, or float in front of the house at any time. What? Big boats can fit in the li’l ol’ swimmin’ hole? Say it ain’t so! Perhaps they’ll be scared off by the intimidating faux owl on the dock…

If not, Plan B may be another fence, three feet in front of the windows on the front of the house that goes all the way up to the roof line. That’ll out-clever the paparazzi.

But one thing is for certain – Mr. McGinniss can now rest easy and eat his oatmeal in peace in the morning without anyone peering at him from across the way.

(Thanks to Mudflatter Greg for the photo. You can see more HERE. http://www.photoshelter.com/c/greghensel/gallery/Palin-and-McGinniss/G0000nvKHMIKcM5w/

This is a really, really ugly fence. All the more ironic when you consider that the house McGinniss has rented was formerly an Oxford House, a halfway house for felons and drug addicts coming out of jail.

Don't you guys need something like that? If you do, maybe your buildings inspector needs to look things over.

6. The Palins live in the smaller green house, and McGinness is renting the
nice big house with the amazing windows and view?

Looks like the Palins have constructed their own little prison camp, with the fence apparently inches from their windows.

their property line extends over that far...

11. They had the opportunity to buy the offending property.
Edited on Fri May-28-10 11:42 PM by Blue_In_AK
In fact, they had rented it for six months. The owner had had the deck built at the Palins' request since they had said they wanted to purchase the property, but then they decided not to buy it and left the owner stuck with the $1500 bill for the new deck. You'd think with that $12 million she made last year she would have just bought this property outright and torn down the house if she wanted to. It seems that would have assured her privacy.

Too cheap, it seems.

29. It really was fascinating, wasn't it?
I think it's very telling that she automatically assumes that grown men are pedophiles or child rapists or whatever when it comes to her daughters. Remember the tiff with Letterman, in which she claimed that Dave's lame joke about Bristol being knocked up had somehow besmirched 14-year old Willow? And now she fantasizes that author McGuinness wants to peep into little Piper's bedroom? She sexualizes her daughters when NO ONE ELSE is doing so, and I think that's just so peculiar.

35. That's exactly it; I mean, who does that?!
Edited on Sat May-29-10 12:06 PM by WorseBeforeBetter
Oh yeah, Sarah Palin.

I wonder who she teams with to "write" these little rants. That so many fall for the manipulation and button-pushing is really fascinating to me. She's a little minx, tending her garden in a tank top and shorts (what, no tiara?). She's a domestic goddess, baking pies. She's a good neighbor, offering a cup of sugar. She's literary, quoting Robert Frost (or 17th century proverbs).

She tries to portray herself as the great protector of children, yet she sexualizes her young daughters and mows the lawn (yeah, right) with a toddler strapped in a backpack.

And LOL @ Lake Lucille as a "swimming hole." What a loon.

34. Looks like the fence's only purpose is blocking any light entering his 2nd floor window.
It's like they said to themselves,"Hmm, what can we do to harass him without it legally being harassment?"
