3. This is apples and oranges. |

Do not think for a minute that I defend *'s response to Katrina, but there were massive rescue efforts going on (when he finally showed up) and people dying in the streets/rivers with mobilization tenuous at best. A SS entourage would have really screwed up those efforts.
If * wanted to do a flyover, he should have done so the next damn day. This was Obama's second visit to the region and there were not massive Search and Rescue efforts underway with lives at stake.

5. as many say, he should have done this weeks ago to blunt much of the neg press & much more |
|
specifically - the views of the actual human beings effected by this. This extended visit took 5 weeks to happen, that's why so many are furious in the region. Can people who aren't there really blame them for being upset? For being angry that BP blocks their local agencies that are trying to help? For wondering why he thought an oil corporation could handle this? I believe he took a great step yesterday, and again another today. This needs to continue because this is a massive disaster.

6. I do not disagree with a thing you have said. |

I object to the comparison. We don't need to dig in the dirt to find differences in policy or how situations are handled, and these are of no compare.
Unless the OP was trying to say that they believe BP's man made disaster is "Obama's Katrina".
