Headlines should not be questions. |
|
Friday pet peeve with the media. Just read "Will Sestak's no paying job offer hurt campaign?" as a headline on Yahoo. You see this sort of thing all the time because of the pundit groupthink journalists seem to find themselves in.
It's not a headline. It's a premise. Or an inevitable hit piece.
C'mon journalism professionals. Lets try harder.
My headline for you: "Journalism today... Just the facts?"

3. Agree "Headlines should not be questions" and DU Subjects should be informative so I don't pass by |
|
a good thread.
Your terse subject was informative and attracted my interest whereas such things as "Shut up *" never causes me to browse a thread.
Just a pet peeve I wanted to share because a news headline and DU subject serve the same purpose, to attract a reader to browse if not read carefully the article.
