Web Site Gets Put 'On-Hold' For You

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Being put on-hold or getting disconnected while waiting for customer service can be maddening, but lucyphone.com can help calm your nerves.

Once you get to the Web site, put in the number you're calling, along with your own phone number, and click the start button.

Then, your phone will ring and Lucy will offer to connect you to the number you listed.

Consumer 10's Chuck Strickler called American Electric Power first.

Once Lucy patched him through, he navigated the company's automated menu. As soon as the service put Strickler on hold, he hit the star button twice and hung up.

Lucy then kept a running clock of the hold time, and when somebody came on the line, the service called Strickler back. He answered the phone and was patched through to a live person at AEP.
