US eyes plan for unilateral military strikes on Pakistan

"US military planners are looking at options for a unilateral strike in Pakistan, for use if a successful attack on US soil is traced to Pakistani tribal areas, The Washington Post reported late Friday.

US retaliation would be contemplated only under extreme circumstances, unnamed senior military officials told the Post.

These circumstances might include a catastrophic attack that convinced President Barack Obama that the ongoing campaign of CIA drone strikes was insufficient.

"Planning has been reinvigorated in the wake of Times Square," one official told the newspaper."

2. Pure stupidity to continue to attempt to fight it this way

Americans have little cognizance of the anger and hatred we are generating right now between the wars and "collateral damage" and allowing our "banksters" to plague the world economy. Not just the middle east, but peoples there is a growing anger in allied countries.

We should drop the war expansions and start ramping up world aid and goodwill efforts. You don't stop extremism with war, this only accelerates it. You disarm it by showing their ideology as empty. So far we are just feeding right into it instead.

3. How reinvigorating!

A phony war on terror, (like the war on some drugs) equals a license to kill! Count the benefits! The Wal-Mart of weapons is open 24/7. Heck, weaponry and illicit drug trade are the two largest industries on Earth, cash-wise. Death and drugs, the species cried out!

Bomb baby, bomb!

While we languish in the excrement that corporate America has given us in return for everything, our government squanders precious resources on drum beats and war. Oh yeah, preserve the precious pipelines, past and future. Commandeer the oil and have a resource war while you lie through your teeth and fool almost all the people all of the time with goblins of terror and Homeland Angels that spread their fictional wings across the land, bringing illusions of security.

It is all about resources, especially oil, but water and other factors. Ask people why the US is waging preemptive, aggressive invasions and occupations. Do they know the truth or are they living in the public relations magic spell that hides it? The engines of this unsustainable way of life are what matter most and the real reason why we send our economically conscripted troops to kill and die as if there is any honor or value in the effort beyond the flow of energy required to feed a ravenous, restless, insatiable beast of consumption above and beyond actual and natural needs.

It's all koyaanisqatsi to me. This way of life is being negotiated and there are dozens of factors that will decide not if, but when its violent paroxysms finally yield its gruesome and transformational death. Every day has become an offering to Thánatos, and rather than appeasing that daenon of death, (after fully succumbing to the wiles of his sleep-inducing Brother, Hypnos) it only hastens our collective trip to the edge of the cultural and Global Abyss that we are orbiting in ever tightening circles.
