We don't want to need to buy oil from countries that don't like us |

That is the line that we have been beat over the head with since 9/11. In other words if you don't open up your most pristine and delicate coastal areas to the big oil companies you are supporting the terrorists. You must be un-American to not want big oil to be drilling off our shores. Its completely safe. And that is usually accompanied by a photo of Iran's president. Why do you want to send billions of dollars to him? And the propaganda might have some 50 something year old grandmotherly looking woman saying, "I think we need to do more drilling right here.", while she shakes her head in agreement with herself.
Does that sound vaguely familiar to anyone?
See how these big corporations shape public opinion with propaganda?

2. It is war in the Middle East in 12 to 24 months |
|
- We've shut donw off-shore drilling
- Fields in the Gulf are depleting faster than predicted
- The War on Iran drums are beating
Either we take control of the middle east oil fields or the US economy is done for.

I haven't seen the BP woman in black striding back and forth on my teevee extolling the general greeniness of BP lately. Wonder what happened to her, anyway?
