6. That's a point, but where would you stop? Do you need to know all of the intricacies
of the steps involved in making shoelaces? Going to research everything involved in producing the machinery available in the hospital at the time of your birth?

Give the OP a break - while it's great to be aware, a person can't and shouldn't be expected to know everything - even if they oppose a practice. It would be great for many to have never heard of them, since it would mean that there wasn't an ecological disaster taking place in the Gulf of Mexico.

7. Sorry.
I wish the first reaction of people was to get more informed, (and thus more able to affect positive change) not less. Until people get informed and shocked out of their complacency, a guy like me is going to have plenty of work. I wish I were forced to change careers because America suddenly woke up to the repercussions of their gluttony and ignorance. Oh well. I just generally wish more people were more inquisitive as to the world we all share.

11. No need for an apology - I feel the same way as you do about people becoming
more informed. I'm a voracious reader and love learning new things, however, that doesn't stop a small part of me from "wishing that I'd never heard of Hiroshima and Nagasaki."

12. LOVE the possible sports term refernces..,
"Top Kill"
A Game over hockey shot over the Goalie's shoulder. A Junk shot could be a "wrap around" game wining shot between the goalies legs.

"Top Hat" ..ESPN's best Hattrick of the night..

"Blow Out Preventer" Got me on this one.. Maybe a couple of three point shots in Basketball that tied the game?

In a "perfect world", where there were no oil spills, these terms could maybe fit.
