2. No! BP never had a plan and it's clear now that they have
no plans for the remaining wells. Shut them all down!

4. I seriously think that if Citizens United says that corporations are people...
Then that would mean that corporations are subjected to the same rights as the rest of us. If that's the case then BP should get the death penalty for this. Let's grow a pair and set an example for the rest of those scumfucks.

11. no, I think BP is just keeping the public occupied with these distractions that won't work
because they knew all along it would take months to drill the other well that will work.

But they couldn't just say "OK people, we have it all in hand. We will get this gusher to stop in about 3 months, that is all".

That would be a public relations disaster for them.

17. Nah they are following a script that's been followed before
we start the relief wells, but in the meantime we try all these stuff in the meantime. If they work, they buy you time to get relief wells in place, if they don't... well at least in PR land it SHOWS you are doing something. It might byte you in the ass, and it is, if you happen to be very bad with PR, or the "trust" of those listening to you is near zero.

19. I think they probably knew that the relief well would be the best option,
but were really trying other things to stop it before. Their shareholders are pissed at them, the WORLD is pissed at them, but more than any other incentive, every day they don't stop it costs them more $$$. So they are probably willing to try anything on the chance they can get it stopped as soon as possible.

25. Please be aware that the relief well is not a certainty
I've found commentary by engineers pointing to the possible troubles and a 50% likelihood of failure.

9. Might as well assume that every alternate method is going to fail
At least then you won't get your hopes up. I was slightly optimistic about this top kill which has be discouraged now.

12. It took a releif well and nine months for the Ixtoc
It will take a relief well and at least that long for this...

And yes, this is not something people want to even consider.

2-3weeks have taught them enough to make it work this time.

24. A sol'n like this with a padded angled flange rather than the rubber...
seal was my first choice. Twould fit over the riser remnant rather than the clean cut. I'm not sure I'd wanna be in a vessel over the well head when they're running that saw tho.
:nuke:

Thx HughMoran
