Memorial Day was established after the Civil War. There are Union soldiers buried in the Federal cemetery close to where I live in SC. I posted some pictures in the following thread:

that my ancestors had fought on BOTH sides (NORTH and SOUTH) during our Civil War.

War is such a waste of humanity: Often pitting brother against brother ... only serving a few rich bloated ghouls. So vile. :(
