Presidential aide(Browner) says oil may leak until August

White House energy czar Carol Browner says oil might keep leaking into the Gulf of Mexico for months until relief wells are completed.

Browner tells NBC's "Meet The Press" that the administration is "prepared for the worst." That's a scenario none of the measures under way will work, and oil leaks until relief wells are finished in August.

She says the government has ordered BP to drill two relief wells in case the first well doesn't work.

BP to know by week's end if new plan contains spill

2. This is basically what people in the know have been saying
The dams, topkill, whatever else they're doing, these are all serious hail marys. The only way we know for sure to stop it is relief wells. That's the only proven method. And those take time. It would be fabulous if something else worked, but no one really expected that. Hoped, yes. Expected, no.

3. BP's only concern is how much oil they'll be losing umtil August.

4. A lot of people said this here. These approaches were all tried
because they had no idea how to stop it...total guesses and BP hoped something would stick and work. Two more months...

5. They started two relief wells, but only one is being actively drilled at present.
"may leak"? None of the proposed interim measures stop all oil from leaking until a relief well is completed, the gushing well is filled with drilling mud from the bottom, and a cement plug completed.
