The Family were in Miami yesterday, under the radar, and perhaps by design.
Little Jebby Bush got married yesterday in Miami.

Miami Herald, May 29, 2010

Three generations of Bushes descended on a Brickell area church Saturday for a wedding and Memorial Day weekend family reunion of the Republican Party's most enduring dynasty.

The two former presidents -- George Herbert Walker Bush and George W. Bush -- were on hand, along with the former first ladies to watch as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's youngest son, John Ellis Bush Jr., 26, known as ``Jebby,'' married Coral Gables resident Sandra Algudady.

The family's elder statesman, George H.W., known as 41, emerged from a tan SUV, his wife Barbara at his side, after being escorted to the church by two Miami-Dade Police squad cars.

Wearing a white summer suit, he appeared frail as he entered the white stone, red-roofed St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church with the help of a cane and his wife, Barbara, at his side.

The groom's father arrived about 30 minutes before the ceremony in a dark suit.

.....

The second President Bush, George W., known as 43, was accompanied by former first lady Laura and daughters Jenna and Barbara.

He turned to a Miami Herald photographer and said jokingly, ``Make me look good,'' as he departed the church.

.....

Little was known about the bride, whose marriage license registry indicates she turned 30 last month. A Google search on the couple found that they are registered at the high-end gourmet kitchen retailer Williams-Sonoma.

Beth Reinhard reports this very interesting scoop about the new Mrs. Jebby Bush:

Sandra al-Gudady

Sandra al-Gudady – Head of Strategic Partnerships

Sandra al-Gudady was appointed Head of Strategic Partnerships to identify, develop, and facilitate partnership opportunities between existing and potential partners and benefactors who share the StratREAL Foundation’s commitment to children and young people. Having worked and lived in the Middle East, Sandra brings a first-hand understanding of Middle Eastern culture and the Arabic language, which have been essential for the development of Foundation programmes in the region. On this, she works closely with The StratREAL Foundation USA.

Sandra joined the Foundation in 2007 after two years at the office of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal, former Crown Prince of Jordan, where she worked as a researcher. She has previously worked at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from McGill University in Montreal. Her thesis argued that the assimilation experiences of recent immigrants are based on their status in the country of origin. Combined, her academic and work experiences make her a strong asset to The StratREAL Foundation’s team. Sandra is a Canadian citizen.
Nicole Ramelow-Schmidt – Partnership Consultant

Nicole’s appointment as the Foundation’s partnership Consultant has been specifically approved to develop partnerships with major non-governmental organisations working in international development. Nicole’s current priorities focus upon the development of joint programmes in the education sector, with the objective of increasing interest in, and developing the appropriate skills for, entrepreneurialism amongst children and young people. Nicole brings with her an impressive knowledge of international charities and NGOs.

1. The wealthy, connected, and ruling class always likes to keep among themselves.
Consolidation of power, no dilution of monetary resources, interconnecting loyalties.

Thus has it ever been.

From the Conservative Middle East Council website:

28th October 2008

The Conservative Middle East Council (CMEC) hosted a briefing at Parliament entitled "How Women are transforming the Middle East". The event was chaired by Anne Milton MP, Shadow Minister for Health. The speakers were Baroness Afshar of York University, Zeina Al-Khalifa, Political Counsellor at the Bahrain Embassy and Sandra Al-Gudady, Director of the StratReal Foundation.

The role of women throughout the Middle East has changed greatly in the past few decades. Whether as political actors, in business or at school Arab women are bringing about positive changes. However, there have also been some major concerns and setbacks in the areas of human rights which come from local cultural traditions and the misapplication of the Koran. Each panellist gave a short speech before the discussions were opened up to the floor for a lively and thought-provoking debate.

.....

Sandra Al-Gudady highlighted the role of women in business in the UAE and the strong role models in the region such as Queen Rania of Jordan. She also questioned the western perception of “the veil” as a sign of subordination and called for a more open minded approach. She argued that at times the West even causes harm with its approach to the issue and stressed that whilst the role of women in the West and Middle East are culturally different, Arab women are still at the forefront of public life and emphasised the vital role they play as mothers of future generations.

.....

From the CMEC newsletter, October, 2008:

In a sign of changing times, the UK Conservative Party’s
Middle East Council (CMEC) hosted a forum on 28 October
in London to highlight the achievements of Middle Eastern
women, and discuss what remains to be done to improve their
rights. The panel included Iranian professor of politics and
women’s studies at York University Baroness Haleh Afshar,First
Secretary at Bahrain’s embassy in London Zeina Hamad Al-
Khalifa and Stratreal Foundation’s corporate philanthropy head
Sandra Al-Gudady, an Iraqi-Jordanian.

.....

There will surely be more ties of interest revealed with this match-up. Somehow, I doubt that 26 year-old Jebby, Jr. is into philanthropy and the fight for women's rights.

But, then again, his daddy is quite the micromanager.
