Maybe this oil gusher will be the tipping point (very small consolation) |
|
If there is ANY hope to be found in this Gulf disaster, maybe, just maybe, it will be the tipping point that drives public outcry for true development of alternative energy science. I don't have much hope, but maybe. Like the 9/11 of alternative energy: the thing that "changes everything."
(Mostly, though, I feel hopeless.)

and we were all helpless to stop the disaster, that is exactly what I hoped. In a way it has been true, but the damage done by Bush to our country is too pervasive to be quickly healed, if it is ever healed at all. Same thing with this oil spill: I have hopes but we will have to weather the consequences of the spill and what comes next, no matter how we supply ourselves with energy in the future. It's horrible and yeah, it feels hopeless.

2. {{{sigh}}} I guess the biggest lesson |

is that if you're a Republican (TM) pesident, nothing you do is wrong, and the consequences of your actions are always the Democratic president's (1) fault, and (2) actions. I'm boiling mad and hopeless at the same time.
