Suppose, we nationalize the oil "spill" well to secure its cleanup and damages.. |
|
BP does not know how much oil there is anyway, and if there is enough they can have the rest.
Lets watch the heads explode, instead of the oil gusher video loop.

That's the second largest oil field on the planet that's ever been discovered. I think Saudi has the largest.

they refer to that particular well which is within an area of 25,000 sq miles - the size of the entire field.

2. Would you buy a house that's burning down? |
|
If we nationalize it, we own it, including the mess. Keep this BP's mess to fix.

4. It would be better to minimize and mitigate the damage, no?? |
|
Would you let the three stooges be in charge of a burning city? Just because they started the fire.

5. BP owns the mess, but its on our shores. |
|
Eventually its will be secure no matter what company stops the flow.
I'm sure BP is not going to let go of this well.

7. This Is A Crime Scene... |
|
and the crime is in progress. There are 11 dead and now the deceptions and other violations that BP is solely responsible for.
In essence when the Coast Guard showed up and the government began to send "assets" to the region, it has been nationalized. According to law, BP is responsible to stop the gusher and clean up the spill, no matter the cost. We are told that while they are doing the "plugging", it's under close scrutiny of the government. Also as the outrage continues, the government is becoming more and more proactive in taking control of the protection of the shorelines and bringing in more companies and experts into this massive undertaking.
Nationalizing BP won't end this disaster any quicker than we're stuck with having to endure. I would freeze assets to assure there are funds available for the clean-up and immediate expenses.
I'm not watching the gusher video...it's like watching a foreign language show...I have no real clue what's going on...it only frustrates.
