I suspect it does. :silly: a little bit, that is.

5. Much of the insanity comes from people who neither read nor think.

6. Politics and intrigue are the same everywhere...
The USA is not some special snowflake.

Way too many people on here have a true "grass is always greener" worldview. Way too much pointing at various nations and assuming its people are way brighter, less prone to xenophobia, etc. Just yesterday I read several people trying to claim Denmark as some socialist utopia. Denmark is not even close to being socialist, has similar hire & fire market policies as we do in the US, is led by a right wing government, and is currently slashing unemployment and child welfare benefits. Denmark largely has all the same internal fights we have, with their left as angry about their fellow citizens indifference/ignorance as we are about ours.

There is no utopia. Populations in a democracy general fight over the same type of things as we do. You can't escape stupid. Those fleeing to Europe now are probably in for a period of right of center governments and "austerity" measures.

7. Causes stress, I can tell you that
There are days when I get the urge to permanently cut myself off from the news so I don't have to worry about financial crises and oil spills and corrupt politicians and people in the Middle East who hate each other and all the other seemingly-permanent state-of-emergency issues that never seem to get resolved.

8. Me too, I mean it causes anxiety, and some days I need to cut myself off from it,

at least for a while.

9. The absolute supidity of people absolutly drives me crazy.
Every day is an adventure in a world full of 'stupid'. How the powers that be can tolerate the ignorance that rules the political, financial and social systems is not only a mystery to me but is a daily trip through the Twilight Zone.
