LIVE feed (NOW) from United Nations (UN Human Rights Council) and maybe emergency UNSEC in ~90 min.:
CNN won't cover it. Fox won't cover it. It's doubtful that even MSNBC or any other mainstream media will cover it. Not even the Outdoor Channel will interrupt Bassmasters for this.

But, in the tradition of open discourse and uncensored news at DU, I present to you the link for the UN Webcast website:

http://www.un.org/webcast/#">HERE

Where you will be able to view live statements by UN delegates regarding boats and possibly sport-fishing accidents.

Channels 1 & 2 are dormant at the moment. Channel 5 is LIVE coverage of the UN Human Rights Council. While the UNHRC was scheduled for this meeting in advance, there were no less than 4 condemnations from countries on this morning's breaking human-rights news regarding boats and possibly sport-fishing accidents. Most of the discussion has been related to their regular agenda, however.

The United Nations Security Council has scheduled an emergency session at 1pm New York time today to discuss breaking international developments regarding boats and possibly sport-fishing accidents. It will likely involve remarks from some or all of the following nations: United States, China, France, Russian Federation, The United Kingdom (which are permanent members) and Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Gabon, Lebanon, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Uganda and Turkey.

It is unclear whether the UN will broadcast the UNSEC meeting but I think there's a pretty good chance it will as breaking stories about boats and possibly sport-fishing accidents have dominated this morning's news and drawn strong responses from many countries.

1pm Eastern, 10am Pacific

Note, the feed may not start immediately so it's worth checking occasionally between now and then on each of the channels or other channels if they go live.

3. Boating seems to be quite dangerous these days
So much over reaction by simple fisherman trying to defend 'their' waters.

I remember a better time when boats would abide by the rules of international maritime law and there was enough fish for everyone.

4. Is there a video of what happened available yet?
I would like to know more facts before rushing to judgment (although it certainly doesn't sound good at all).

8. IE should play it fine. I also got it to work with VLC player which is open source and ALSO....
..comes with basically every codec you'd ever need to play just about all video. Look up VLC player and give that a shot but really, if you have Internet Explorer, just use that. I normally use FireFox or Chrome, never IE. In this case, it was quickest.

BTW, the website uses RealPlayer so if you have to just go to RealPlayer's site and download the free version. That will probably clear it up for whatever browser you're using.
