BP’s Tony Hayward: Hospitalized dispersant workers are suffering from “food poisoning”
http://bit.ly/aeBxf3

This week, at least nine men working with BP’s Corexit dispersant were taken from the coastal cleanup site — some by helicopter — to West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, where they complained of various respiratory ailments, including shortness of breath and nosebleeds. Yesterday, BP CEO Tony Hayward proffered a unique explanation for their ailments; the men were suffering from food poisoning:

“Food poisoning is clearly a big issue,” Hayward said Sunday. “It’s something we’ve got to be very mindful of. It’s one of the big issues of keeping the Army operating. You know, the Army marches on their stomachs.”

3. I guess the time I thought I had food poisoning
it really wasn't. My nose didn't bleed, I had no shortness of breath. I just puked for about 6 hours. Wonder what I had?

5. Are they feeding their army pixie sticks?
That is the only food substance that I can think of that would be inhaled and could cause respiratory problems and nose bleeds.

8. Don't be hatin' on Dr. Tony
Are you all doctors? 'Nuff said! Tony's a big-shot CEO of a major multinational oil company, and he could buy and sell the lot of you before breakfast. So there!

9. Ask the firefighters and others who worked clean up after 911
If you should trust anyone who tells you it's safe to work in a toxic materials zone with or without wearing safety gear.

Ask the families of those who've already died.

11. At this point, one wonders why BP's Board hasn't fired his lying ass.
He is worse than useless to the company. His credibility is in the negative numbers so he has no PR value. His leadership seems to have put the corporation in some serious trouble. And he grates on the planet's nerves.

Since all BP does is for profit and PR to hide the truth, they should can his ass and PRETEND they give a shit.

15. Well then he should help with the clean-up
and show us that it's perfectly safe. Come on Tony set an example, get your hands a little dirty, be an inspiration and get out there with a bottle of Dawn and paper towels. Don't worry Tony you'll only get a little sick with food poisoning, right?

17. Oh sure, breathing in crude oil fumes have no effect on one's respiratory system, none at all.
Its the food, of course, why didn't we think of that - its just SO obvious. What an utterly absurd thing to say. This guy was actually put in charge of a big company? Here's a clue for him - maybe if workers were outfitted with respirators they wouldn't be coming down with "food poisoning" that affects their respiratory systems.

What the hell is he talking about anyway? Does he think he is commandeering a military unit or something? Good lord, it sounds as if his private fantasies are bleeding through to reality.
