What to do WHAT TO DO???? New Idea re CRUDE OIL LEAK in GULF |
|
Until well is solved by relief shaft, etc...
Containment essential
review to date: oil well chaft may have been comped ...Most Fire Fighters are trained to shut down fire hydrants REAL Slow ...PREVENTS WATER HAMMER and ruptures.
This may have happened and ruptured the casing at points below.....
this does not mean the end of the world as the escaping oil is within a small circle....perhaps within a quarter of a mile diameter or less
this can be contained without moving most of the wreckage.
canvas / rubber liners ....can form a funnel like shape so the upwelling oil water mix reaches the surface when it can be reclaimed more efficiently by sea going oil boom barriers forming a large trough for the mixture ....floating barges within the trough pumps out the skimmed oil efficiently .. to waiting tankers.
this continues until the relief shaft can be accomplished

1. One posibility for surface water cleanup would be to mount separators... |
|
...on smaller vessels and store the oil in those big sausage like grain bags. Tie them off every few hundred to 1000 barrels, tow with tugs to refineries or a transfer station.
