2 month vacation by Iraqi parliament? Duh, why not? |
|
Has anyone here ever been in the middle east? in the summer? EVERYONE tries to get away in midsummer - if only out of self-preservation. The heat is oppressive, the air is sandy, and even dangerous. The idea of having official government functions in midsummer is simply not done.
Texas, and at least 20 other state legislatures work part time. They rarely work during the summer. (absent an emergency). Italy, England, France, Germany, Russia, and others, all take a break during the summer.
But, we fly out Darth Cheney to chide, yell at, and complain about the fact that Iraqis want a break.
There is another problem. Iraqi legislators have been targetted by their own people, day in, day out. Who can blame them for wanting to escape, and see their families, possibly for the last time.

The mothers and fathers, sons and daughers, and family and friends of any troops who die in the civil war over there while they are on vacation.
Can our troops come home for 2 months too? Most of them need a vacation real bad as well.

I don't blame the Iraqis for taking a break. That's the norm. What's more Bushco's puppet regime think just like him.

Send all the US troops stateside "for a two month vacation" then let the air out of all the US military vehicle tires so they can't go back! It's genius!!!

did anyone think that a vacation might also be a way for the sects to start unofficial talks, to work together? The problem for the boy king is that if they do work together, it will be against Bush.
