I turned on the teevee this morning to hear the very same headline I have heard each week lately:
"The spill might be worse, much worse, than the government or BP have previously estimate."

According to CBS (the only news I've watched thus far today) the flow might now be 100,000 barrels (4,400,000 gallons) per day.

I once called this "Oilmegeddon". I will no longer do that. Even black humor seems cruel and inappropriate.

2. several weeks ago, a scientist with the task force said the spill could be 100,000 barrels, and
that bp had acknowledged that figure in their internal reports from day one.

you are right, even black humour (pun cannot be helped) seems cruel and inappropriate.

I wish for all those who created, and are now enabling this disaster, to suffer every bit of what the people and creatures of the Gulf, and the Gulf itself, are suffering.

3. Everyone keeps lying about it...our government and BP.

When they cut that crimp to place the "containment" cap on it, they knew they would make it worse.

And still we are not accepting help from other countries who have offered skimmers, etc.

4. I takes only something less than a tin ear..
... for spin to know that the "spill" is much much worse, by volume, than anyone is letting on.

Big companies and government learned long ago to parcel out the bad news slowly, or not at all, so as not to alarm to hoi polloi.

5. We've been lied to by BP and the Govt from the very beginning.
Move along, nothing to see here.
