I know you think there has been a military coup, George, but as Katrina vanden Heuvel pointed out on Scarborouh last night - civilians run the show in this country - NOT the military.

2. Yep. That's why it is our duty as citizens to ensure that the machinery of war
is not misused. Admittedly we haven't done such a bang up job on that duty the last few years.

3. Bush is a civilian
He has not been inducted into any military branch. Just calling him "commander in chief" does not make him a member of the US military. Same with the others in his cabinet- unless they are active duty servicepeople, they are not, by definition, military. So if Shrub wants us to think the milirary runs itself, well, then, he should stop telling them what to do....
