<snip>

"We’re fighting a war against terror,'' Cheney told the troops. "We are here, above all, because the terrorists who have declared war on America and other free nations have made Iraq the central front in that war.''

but, you know, there is no more fear among most of us about some potential for more terror; at least no fear of terror 'increasing' by leaving Iraq . . .

"Only 22% of Americans accept the administration's argument that U.S. forces in Iraq are preventing new terror attacks on the United States; 17% say the troop presence is making those attacks more likely. Another 58% say the U.S. deployment doesn't affect it either way . . . yet, over 60% of Americans support withdrawal from Iraq.

3. Cheney assumes we're all ignorant morons with no ability to read or remember.
It's working, right? I mean, his approval ratings are through the roof.

22. Here are some figures I found:
Total US Troops ~142,000 -- 29 March 2007*
This is an increase of 7,000 over February.
Coalition Country Military Personnel in Iraq As of (date)
United Kingdom - 7,100 - January 12, 2007
South Korea - 2,300 - February 22, 2007
Italy - 0 - December 2, 2006
Poland - 900 - February 22, 2007
Australia - 550 - February 22, 2007
Georgia - 900 - February 22, 2007
Romania - 600 - February 22, 2007
Denmark - 460 - January 2, 2007
Total Coalition Troops ~13,205 March 7, 2007
(This is approximately 800 fewer than February)
*Number of Total Coalition Troops is from “Iraq Weekly Status Report,” Department of State, 21 March 2007.

In addition to the United States, 25 countries are contributors to Iraqi Stability Operations as of 14 March 2007:
Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Georgia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

8. No, Mr. Cheney. YOU made Iraq the central front. You and every other traitor...

... whose signature appears on the "we need a new Pearl Harbor" letter.

The only real questions now are:

A) Which of the PNAC-ers in on this disaster should be brought to trial for complicity in crimes designed to undermine our nation, not to mention Iraq...

B) Which of them should be imprisoned for life if found guilty...

and C) Which of them should be hanged for what they've done.

:grr:

9. Terrorists did that? Wow....I thought Cheney pushed for an Iraq invasion
...in March 2003 because there were more and better targets in Iraq then in Afghanistan. I guess he must have meant that American troops would present more and better targets for the terrorists if they were moved in mass into Iraq. That would have made the U.S. responsible for making Iraq the central front of the war.:wtf:

19. More like a training ground
The jihadists, from what I gather, are extremely methodical.

They find out what works, what doesn't - and they document it for future reference with videos and manuals.

For example, they've gotten very skilled in bringing down helicopters with relatively small arms.

This is convenient for the terrorists, certainly not their "last stand". They can withdraw from a battle any time they like to regroup, rearm and plan another strategy.

This is their turf.

25. And the troops think, what's this "we" shit?
Also, about our own little terrorist group in NJ--why didn't they fly over THERE, so we could fight them over THERE? These terrorists should get with the program--they're supposed to make their big impact by fighting our well-armed and well-trained MILITARY in war-torn Iraq. They're not supposed to wreak havoc here, among unarmed and defenseless civilians. What would THAT accomplish?
