A new way to get more votes, or decrease the number of votes for the neocons |
|
I am a liberal, and I don't mind being called one, even though neocons were using the word as a pejorative. The neocons don't like being called a neocon, they prefer to be called a Republican. And most of us fall for it - out of politeness, perhaps.
I call them neocons because they are not Republicans. They joined the Republican Party some 40 years ago, worked to undermine the old Republican Party leadership from the inside, and were successful in usurping their power, and threw them out.
The Republican Party no longer exists today. But many of those who vote Republican are not even aware of the switch-over. The neocons are smart enough to keep on using the Republican name, so as to continue getting their votes.
Many Republicans would not vote for the neocons today, if they only knew the truth.
Why don't we take advantage of this situation? At least, we can give it a good try! Let's all call neocons by their true party name (both when talking and writing) and do our best to spread the practice. In time, old Republicans will catch on, and when they do, hopefully enough of them will stop voting for the neocons. Maybe it could make a difference as early as November this year.
To know more about them, just google "Neo-conservatism." There are tons of articles. It is an education in itself! You'll also be able to explain things, if old-time Republicans were to ask you questions.
Every little bit counts! Will we all do it?

23. I now understand you. But Obama is the one who jampacked |
|
his administrastion with them - possibly for the purpose of trying to win over the Neocons on a bipartisanship basis. If so, it has back-fired - unless Obama has some special plan in mind. (I doubt that he has any special plan. He was obsessed with the idea of bipartisanship - probably still is).

6. It's hard to focus on neocons when neolibs are the |
|
current perpetrators of catastrophe.
It's like planning to do battle with the army just ahead without taking into account the army flanking you.

Most Republicans and those Democrats who support de-regulation and privatization are neoliberals.

20. Yes, he is one of those I wish Obama had never employed.. |
|
I also think he could have had better people among his top Treasury members, instead of taking on the left-over members from the Bush Administration, Obama seems to be so obsessed with the bipartisan idea, that he bent over backwards to accommodate the neocons. What a huge mistake! It appears that Obama isn't about to replace them yet - not at this point.
Nothing would appease the neocons until they've kicked Obama out and replaced him with one of their own. In the meantime, they are doing as much damage to him in every conceivable way. They block him with obstructions, filibusers, and one of their leaders in Congress ordered his representatives to vote "No" on whatever Obama is trying to accomplish.
And these are supposed to be grown-up and responsible neocon leaders? Their basic personality is like that of the small child. They are infantile! What are they doing holding responsible positions in government?

Too bad that so many of those who vote for them don't even know this.

24. It's been 10 years since Al Gore was running, and the |
|
machines were being rigged. And the majority of states today are still using these machines. Don't Democrats really care? Can you imagine how the Neocons would have reacted if the situation had been reversed! They would have been made illegal within 2 years and the manufacturers of those machines would have been behind bars!
You've got to give Neocons credit for their working and fighting hard. Deomcrats are too lackadaisical! Maybe they deserve what's happened to them!

8. The thing about neocons |
|
is that they are demonstrably and irrefutably a shrewd ideology that was somehow able to convince 300+ million sheep and the mainstream media that the USA should give lives and trillions in treasury to involve the USA in a "War on Terror", which included a two front war in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was based totally upon events and false intelligence that were never adequately investigated nor transparent, and were not explained by an ethical and competent commission.
The outcome for America has been perfectly clear and very negative. Neocons much prefer the use of shrewdness rather than ethics, transparency, honesty and integrity.

9. Yes, a high percentage of the neocon leadership is made up |
|
of people with the disorder known as - "antisocial personality disorder." These people can't help being the way they are. The environmental influences in which they grew up have a lot to do with their problem, and perhaps heredity might have played a role too. As such, they can't be be blamed, since they had nothing to do with being the way they are. But neither should they be given the opportunity to bring about harm and damage to others, which positions of power definitely can enable them to do. Average citizens also have the right to be protected from them.
Unfortunately, too many of them are already in these positions. It's up to us to vote as many as possible out of their jobs for the sake of the whole nation.

demonize the word as the neocons tried to demonize the word "liberal." But I don't find "liberal" bad at all. And I don't intend to let them change the meaning of words in the English language for me. Also, as I've said, I use the word "neocon" to distinguish it from "Republican." "Neocons" are not "Republicans." They the word mainly to fool real Republicans into voting for them. The Neocon Party is simply one big lie.
