I have a very old-fashioned, conservative, and maybe archaic view of private sector companies.
As much as it sounds like a cliche, I honestly do believe that the CEO is "Captain of the Ship."
If a CEO pulls down an astronomically large salary & compensation package based upon performance and the success of the company for all involved, well...as long as ethics were at the core of the business, more power to them.
But in Fiorina's case, when
she walked away with $45 million after destroying the company culture and proving herself a failure at her job, that's just obscene. She's either too arrogant to know how hated she is, or too stupid. Either way, she's too arrogant and/or stupid to hold public office.
But as I've said many, many times on DU...as a Silicon Valley resident and someone who spent a month and a half working as a contractor at HP during Fiorina's reign, this woman simply lacks any admirable or redeeming qualities. She's the worst of the worst, she managed to walk away with her swag, and now she's back for more. Let's hope California voters have better sense than to elect her.
