Filmmaker Michael Moore Being Investigated By Treasury Dep't Over Cuba Trip For "Sicko"
www.thinkprogress.org

Filmmaker Michael Moore “is being investigated by the Treasury Department over a trip he made to Cuba for his new film, ‘Sicko.’” The department is “investigating whether he had violated restrictions on travel to Cuba when he accompanied sick workers seeking free medical care as part of a documentary on America’s health care industry.”

7. OFAC is under Treasury
The Office of Foreign Assets and Control is run by the Dept of Treasury.

OFAC controls the permitting process of US citizens and corporations for Cuba travel and trade.

the average American is....let's show some backing for Mr. Moore. This administration is just like the Nazis. Any suggestions how we can show support to the totalitarians in the WH? The only reason Moore is being harassed is because he is showing how phony the set up is....the US won't even take care of its own if they are not wealthy.

5. Why didn't the republicons do anything for the 9/11 heros & rescuers?
Wny did the republicons turn their backs on the 9/11 heros?

Why do republicons turn their backs on our military veterans, and send them to a rat-infested Walter Reed Army hospital?

9. Bingo. And more than just their health care system too..
.. their unversal education system is world class also w/free higher ed.

Plus, if Americans could freely travel to Cuba they might see that (((GASP))) Cuba has a parliamentary type of democracy also.

http://www.poptel.org.uk/cuba-solidarity/democracy.htm
This system in Cuba is based upon universal adult suffrage for all those aged 16 and over. Nobody is excluded from voting, except convicted criminals or those who have left the country. Voter turnouts have usually been in the region of 95% of those eligible .

There are direct elections to municipal, provincial and national assemblies, the latter represent Cuba's parliament.

Electoral candidates are not chosen by small committees of political parties. No political party, including the Communist Party, is permitted to nominate or campaign for any given candidates.

The Cuban government was reorganized (approved by popular vote) into a variant parliamentary system in 1976.

You can read a short version of the Cuban system here,

Or a long and detailed version here,
